Joining Boy Scouts from
Cub Scouts:
The passage from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts should be smooth, with no
time lost in between. By the time a Webelos Scout is ready to graduate
and cross over to Boy Scouts, the Scout and his family
should be familiar with all the troops in their community
and have a chance to meet with youth and adult leaders,
understand the various troop programs and their
role in the troop after joining. In addition to Troop
139, there are four other troops in Davis, California:
Troops 66, 111, 199, and 466. Webelos dens typically
visit local troops during the winter months just before
crossing over.
During
the graduation ceremony a Webelos Scout usually receives
his Arrow of Light Award, and upon "crossing over"
to Boy Scouts receives the troop's neckerchief and a
set of red shoulder loops. A Webelos Scout who has earned the Arrow of Light Award has completed all
the requirements for the Scout badge and may join a Boy Scout troop.
